Gather ‘round, I’ve got a tale to spin about a recent jaunt that was simply… remarkable.

The leaves are starting to turn, the air’s got that crisp, apple-cider-like bite, and a good

old-fashioned fall adventure was practically begging to happen. So, what better way to

embrace the season than to borrow a shiny new 2025 Hyundai Palisade from the good

folks at Haselwood Hyundai and point its distinguished grille towards the charming, and

some might say haunted, town of Port Gamble?

The air in Port Gamble was thick with the scent of damp earth and Douglas fir, a world away from the relentless gray of the Seattle sprawl just across the Puget Sound. It felt like stepping into another century, the quiet broken only by the chirping of unseen birds and the distant thrum of something powerful approaching. That something was a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, a machine that looked perfectly at home amidst the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

It's Thursday, and Father's Day is this weekend. I'm currently on a mission to Sweeney's Country Style Meats, and I've got to tell you about my ride. Haselwood Hyundai was kind enough to lend me a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. And, well, let's just say I'm rethinking all my life choices that don't involve owning one of these.

Well, hello there, you beautiful people! It’s your boy. At 6'6", 250 pounds, I'm basically wearing this 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata rather than sitting in it. But here's the thing—I can't stop grinning.

I’m pretty sure my knees are somewhere in the vicinity of the glove compartment, and my head is practically kissing the soft top, but the grin on my face is wider than a grand canyon. This car corners like it's on rails, and the shifting is  butter-smooth, it's like a warm…

Well folks, this dutiful son is on a top-secret mission today. Operation:  Par-fect Day with Mom! The target? My wonderful Mom. The weapons? A hearty brunch, a challenging round of golf, and the chariot? A gleaming 2024 GMC Terrain Denali, courtesy of the fine folks at West Hills Autoplex.

Now, you know me, I like a smooth operation, and that started with the ride. Picking up Mom was a breeze. She emerged from the house, looking as radiant as a spring bloom, and even gave the Terrain a little appreciative whistle. "Ooh, fancy!" she exclaimed, already eyeing the panoramic sunroof…

I woke this morning with a strange sense of dread. A dark cloud had settled over my soul, perhaps anticipating the day ahead or the lingering unease from my recent ordeal. I ventured into the digital wilderness of Craigslist, seeking a new, used car. Uninspired by the plethora of vanilla vehicles, I stumbled upon the unicorn car. A vintage Mustang, a relic of a bygone era. The ad promised a classic beauty, a time capsule of chrome and leather. It was a siren song…luring me deep into the woods.
