The Kitsap Great Escape in Silverdale beckoned, promising an afternoon of adrenaline-pumping puzzles and cryptic clues. But before I experienced the escape room labyrinth, I had a luxurious highway puzzle to solve – navigating the scenic stretch from Bremerton to Silverdale in style.
As I eased out of the dealership lot and onto the highway, the world unfolded before me like a secret waiting to be unraveled. The Palisade's panoramic sunroof, the “Vista Roof,” stretching almost the entire length of the cabin, bathed the interior in a welcoming light.
The Palisade boasts a class-leading 168.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded. Criminal to test on an afternoon joyride, but the thought of packing it for a weekend getaway filled me with a thrill. Perhaps a future escapade to explore the Olympic Peninsula.

The Highway Driving Assist (HAD) maintained a safe distance from the car ahead, practically steering itself at times, allowing me to soak in the scenery. And the HTRAC all-wheel-drive system would be a welcome companion on those rainy Northwest journeys. Today, however, the sun glinted off the water, making the drive a visual feast.
As I pulled into the parking lot of the Kitsap Great Escape, I couldn't help but grin. The Palisade had been the perfect accomplice for my escape room adventure – comfortable, stylish, and packed with hidden features, just like a well-designed puzzle.

The game master, a young woman with a twinkle in her eye, explained the backstory and locked us in with a flourish.
The next hour was a whirlwind of deciphering cryptic messages, solving mechanical puzzles, and working together with my teammates (fellow escape room enthusiasts I'd met online). The Palisade's luxurious interior had been a cocoon of comfort on the drive here, but Professor Whippleton's Manor was a different kind of escape – a mental one.
We emerged triumphant, sweaty, and exhilarated, having solved the final puzzle with mere seconds to spare. Kitsap Great Escape had delivered on its promise – a thrilling escape room experience that tested our teamwork and ingenuity.
The drive back to Bremerton was a victory lap. The Palisade purred contentedly on the highway, and its comfortable seats were a welcome reward after our mental workout. The setting sun cast long shadows across the water, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple.
Pulling into the Haselwood Hyundai lot, a sense of accomplishment washed over me. The day had been a successful escape – from the daily grind into the luxurious embrace of the Palisade and, finally, into the immersive world of Kitsap Great Escape. The Palisade had been more than just a car; it had been my stylish and capable partner in crime, ready for whatever adventure awaited me next.
